[Deep Sigh] I guess sometimes it comes to this. Sometimes you just gotta let that other person know that you just ain't feelin' them anymore. And when you are at that much-dreaded crossroad, there is no better way to gently part ways than with some 'Chicago' frontlined by ol' Peter Cetera.

Old School Friday: Gospel/Spiritual/Praise/Inspirational Songss
We are back again for another episode of M-o-M's 'Old School Friday'. Steve Winwood's 1986 'Back In The High Life' was full of inspirational and spiritually-driven songs, including 'Higher Love' which featured my favorite female artist Chaka Khan. I have selected the title song from Winwood's '86 Grammy-winning album. Do Enjoy!

Old School Friday: Favorite Female Singer
Again, this weeks 'Old School Friday' was pretty easy to get with. I had to go with Chaka Khan because she truly is my favorite female singer; her voice is just so captivating. The chosen song actually comes from a rare album that now has to be imported for nearly $200.00, but it is the best $200.00 you could spend to hear her earlier solo work.

Old School Friday: Not Another Sad Love Songs
I didn't find it hard to find to follow the rules of OSF this week. We all know about the love songs; whether they are uplifting or downright depressing, we know 'em. I had to go with a classic tune from Peter Cetera 'cause I love this song.

Old School Friday: Best Guitar/Bass Solos
My song/video this week for Old School Friday comes by way of jazz legend George Duke. The bass and guitar solo are provided by Byron Miller and percussion is provided by the lovely Sheila E. This tune is fire and the bass solo is dangerous.

Old School Friday: Remakes
My song/video this week for Old School Friday comes by way of 'Troop'. This 1989 hit song is a remake of the 1975 hit from 'Jackson 5'. Troop did a great job duplicating the classic love song. I actually posted both videos so that you can determine whose version is better.

Old School Friday: Movie Songs
My song/video this week for OSF comes from Katrina & The Waves. This 1985 hit song was featured on the 1989 movie 'Look Who's Talking', which of course featured John Travolta and Kirstie Alley. I believe this was also the first movie that ever featured talking babies; well they really didn't talk, but what they were thinking was put on blast.

Old School Friday: Songs By Men With Perms
Honestly, outside of James Brown, Michael Jackson, and Prince I could not really think of any permed-out artists. But then I went way back in the record collection and found 'Babyface' before he was 'Babyface'; him and three other talented jheri curl-sportin' bammas [including L.A. Reid] that turned out a classic hit. Do enjoy!

Old School Friday: Case
According to my blog sister MrsGrapevine, the OSF [Old School Friday for all of those whom are slow on the acronyms] theme for this week is wedding songs; songs you got married to or songs you would like played at your wedding.
I picked Case's 1999 'Happily Ever After' because this is actually the song that my wife [ex-wife now] and I danced to on our wedding day back on August 14, 1999; it truly is a beautiful song and I hope that you enjoy it.

OK, this is my first time doing this, but this week for OSF, I wanted to drop two videos. One will make you wanna bus' a move on the dance floor and the other will make you wanna take your lady by waist and hold her closely. Whatever your taste, please do enjoy responsibly :-]
