We are back again for another episode of M-o-M's 'Old School Friday'. Steve Winwood's 1986 'Back In The High Life' was full of inspirational and spiritually-driven songs, including 'Higher Love' which featured my favorite female artist Chaka Khan. I have selected the title song from Winwood's '86 Grammy-winning album. Do Enjoy!

That Feel Good Music
While scrolling through the 2700+ tunes in my MP3 player, for some reason I was inspired to share my 'Top-15 Feel Good Songs'. This list comprises of mainly late-70's, 80's, and early-90's music; when music truly was inspirational. This was not an easy list to compile, but these are the 15 songs that move me in some way or another. Tell me know what you know about this 'feel good' music.
15. These Dreams - Heart
14. All Dressed Up (Ready To Hit The Town) - Chico DeBarge (This song was briefly featured during Eddie Murphy's 'Coming America' infamous bar scene)
13. Closer - Al Jarreau
12. Backyard - Pebbles ft. Salt N Pepa
11. Easy Lover - Phillip Bailey (of Earth, Wind, & Fire) ft. Phil Collins (Last month I did a blog post about one of Phil Collins' songs)
10. Be Optimistic - Sounds Of Blackness
09. Call Me Al - Paul Simon
08. Higher Love - Steve Winwood (Lovely background vocals provided by Chaka Khan)
07. I'll Be Good To You - Quincy Jones ft. Ray Charles & Chaka Khan (A great remake of 'The Brothers Johnson' song)
06. Waiting For A Star To Fall - Boy Meets Girl
05. Right On Track - The Breakfast Club (Madonna used to be a background singer for this group)
04. Jamie - Ray Parker Jr. (One of R.P.J.'s best songs)
03. Whenever You Need Somebody - Rick Astley (Many think this British man is black because of his strong voice)
02. Keep It Coming Love - K C & The Sunshine Band
01. Ride Like The Wind - Christopher Cross ft. Michael McDonald (This is my #1 song because of Christopher's paced storytelling and Michael's powerful vocals, the orchestration of the band, and the tempered background vocals. This song will get you moving and will make you want to take on the world)
