To be honest I had to stray away from the smooth jazz scene. I was into it when I was living in DE like back in 2002 but when I moved to Baltimore and began listening to the "cool" jazz station on Morgan State University's college radio there was no comparison. I am much more into cool jazz than smooth jazz and believe me you can tell the difference. I used to listen to the like of Kim Waters, Najee,Richard Elliot, Candy Dulfer among others. Don't get me wrong they are still great artist by my tastes in jazz have changed. I now try to listen to a small station in northern NJ that plays that kind of jazz. <BR/>As for Chrisette Michelle, can that chick blow or what? I get images of old school sistas back in the day when I hear her sing. The reason is simple: It's Kirk! It can't be helped. I can't imagine you being a Smooth Jazz lover, but, there's a lot to be said for it. When you've got some time, like when nothing else seems to "hit you correctly", find a nice Smooth Jazz station, sit back, and prepare to be wowed. As for K.W., it's hard to not fall in love with the music. Currently (for the past 5 or 6 months), I have been playing "La Pagaras" by La Factoria over and over and over again, and I haven't the faintest idea what the ladies are saying (it's in Spanish). The music sure is great, though. At least you know what K.W. is "saying" - it's universal.
