Th'owback Commercial Of The Week

I couldn't stay away from this ritual for too long, so I am back to bless you with another fine retro commercial.

11 Who Said What?:

Tony the Tiger was one of my favorite characters! I'd not seen him in a while - lol. Thanks!

That was a two-fer right there. A double whammy, if you will. Not only does that take me back to the old school days of "Frosted Flakes has spinach hidden in it 'cause after you eat it you go back out there and whip some ass, Popeye style" but that little snippet in the beginning of ABC's Saturday Morning cartoons "We'll be right back" reminded me of all those Saturday mornings watching Looney Tunes. The image of those clay-mation singers bending over and swapping heads will forever be stuck in my head.

These throwbacks are a tradition now... keep 'em coming!

danggg you stay bringing back memories...

@AJ: Tony is nowhere to be found. Honestly, I can not remember seeing a classic cereal icon actually being used in a commercial.

@MikeBeck: That is interesting that you remember the snippets too Michael. When I saw the snippet, it took me back to all of those Saturday morning cartoons and waiting in anticipation for the cartoon to return after the break.

I still eat this cereal, not my kids, I make them eat Cheerios. They know that the Frosted Flakes is "mama's cereal".

I only 3 cereals, Frosted Flakes, Super Golden Crisp, and Fruit Loops, but mainly Frosted Flakes.

There GGGrrrrrrreaaaatt!!

I used to love, love, love the Tony the Tiger ads. They were like these inspirational stories of the underdog overcoming. Gotta love that. Maybe that's why I've always like Frosted Flakes! Hmmm....

Wow, I remember all those sugar loaded saturday mornings...though I was too po' back then to afford Frosted Flakes I had to settle for store brand. Ah well same stuff different packaging. That did bring me back though, thanks.
