Over the past few weeks, I can say that I have truly been blessed. Just when it seemed like life was throwing an infinite number of blows at me, God came through and helped me to get past those times. You can never underestimate the power of prayer and faith because both will carry you through some of your toughest times. Experiencing these trials and tribulations and having pull through them successfully, has lead me to want to give back to those in need. In the likes of many of our greatest business people and philanthropist, I have decided to launch the Marcus Langford Foundation for breast cancer which will actually be off the ground this May. The American Cancer Society predicts that about 1.3 million women will be diagnosed with breast cancer annually and about 465,000 worldwide will die from the disease; a surely depressing statistic indeed. I want to use my resources to help support any causes and research that will provide a cure for this disease that claims the lives of some 42,000 women every year in the United States alone. I have a dear friend who has watched most of his family fall victim to cancer, even losing this mother to breast cancer in 2005; another reason why I was motivated to create the Marcus Langford Foundation. Having monetarily donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation in the past and even participating in the walks, I figured now is as good a time to bring a foundation of my own to the forefront; simply put: Every little bit counts.
I am person that values control, especially as it concerns my money and how it is being used, so my foundation is not going to be supported by donations from patrons; that is something that I plan to work on as my foundation grows. Initially I will support my foundation using proceeds from my business ventures. The actual breakdown is pretty simple and can be explained in short order.
Twenty percent of the profits from the virtual businesses of Langford Internetprises, 20% of the profits from MLD Tees, and all commissions from my breast cancer tees which are presented by MLD Tees will be saved at the end of every month and put into what I call "The MLF Breast Cancer Hub" which is no more than an ING Direct savings account that gains a great interest rate. At the end of each quarter, all of the funds from the "Hub" are collected and a certified check is written and mailed to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure based in Dallas, Texas; all proceeds are pre-taxed for the non-profit corporation.
Again, this is incredibly exciting news and I look forward to sharing the continued progress with you all.

13 Who Said What?:
Congrats, I am proud to see young black philanthropist. It's important to give back, and I'm more inclined to buy a shirt now.
Good luck to you Marcus. That's a wonderful way to give back.
Congratulations...I'm proud to say that you are my blog brother...
Where can I get one of those T's again?
@MrsGrapevine - Thank you very much sis. I think buyers will appreciate the fact that my t-shirt line supports a cause.
@MsMarvalus - You will be able to get the t-shirts when mldtees.com launches in a couple of weeks from. You will be able to find them under the 'Awareness' category [just a little FYI for ya sis] :-]

Congrats Marcus on doing something important in the world. Sometimes we get too caught up in our own thing and we forget that there are others whose needs surpass our own. Kudos to you on not being in that oh so easy to slip into category.
Marcus thanks for caring and I hope the best for your adventures.
