Super Tuesday's Best!

Well I hope that you got a chance to go out and vote. Apparently, and obviously, this is setting up to be one of the most anticipated elections in history, even more so than when ol' boring-a** John Kerry was set to take over the chair in 2004. I simply do not think Kerry had the cultural pull as today Democratic hopefuls do. Yeah, Kerry was cool, but he was not very convincing to the American people which ultimately lead to him riding in the sunset without a victory.

This time around we have Clinton [round three] and Obama leading the Democratic party to new heights and out of the two of those fine people, I see Obama being the one to make history. Really, what is the likelihood that a Republican will end up in office this term-slim to none! And rightfully so. The Republican party has caused enough domestic and foreign damage during their eight years of office reign and it's time for change and I see that change being in the hands of the 'Donkey' as opposed to the 'Elephant'. It's so d*mn unfortunate that whatever Democrat ends up in office will have to spend at least one of their terms applying damage control, but this is typically how it has always been [shakin' head]. Why does the Republican party even still exist when all it does is destroy lives, countries, and economies [at least not rich folks economy]!? Pull out your dictionary and look up the word destruction and I guarantee you will see the word Republican riding right along next to it.

I hope that everyone that desired to vote, did so with great pride in their decision. Most people that voted in the years 2000 and 2004 are ready to take a chrome-plated pistol to their temple and pull the trigger. But 2008, could very well see many a happy people because they will know that they have voted for the candidate that best suits and benefits everyone and not just a class of people.

I voted with pride, but the longs were toooo long here in Atlanta at my polling site! There were only two people checking voter's registration...the down side of voting!

Marcus, great article. I am one of those people who could have shot myself after voting for that fool. I am voting this time for a change. It is very interesting how Obama has stirred up the young people like yourself. That is what I am liking young people fired up to vote.

As a non-American living in the US, I find the whole voting system here in the US very interesting. If I could vote, I'm pretty sure I would vote Democrat. As for which candidate, I'm really not sure who I would pick at this point. I'm almost glad I don't have to make that choice:) They are both outstanding candidates with a lot to offer. Either way, history is being made which is all good. The one thing that I really don't get is the whole electoral college thing that voting comes down to in the vote for President in November. Why after all these years, is it simply not just majority wins? The whole idea of differing states having varying numbers of electoral colleges and the fact that that is the deciding factor, just throws me for a loop. Seems a little antiquated and unfair if you ask me.

@ Jackie: I am sure many share your confusion. I do not vote either, not only because I can't [I live in Washington, DC which is a district that does not vote], but because I don't really understand the system either. More than that, my religious background does not support voting. However, if I were a voter, I would definitely vote Democratic. I keep up with the news and I am aware of politicians and what they are about; no matter who you are, you have to recognize this. I only hope and pray that this presidential election sees the best candidate go into the office.

I got up early this morning to vote. Of course because of the old people it took longer to check in to vote than it did to actually vote, but I still got my ballot in with ease.

I know who I think is the best candidate to go into the office, but I dont know if that candidate didn't win, if I would be able to feel good about voting for the other.

I can't vote until March, but I'm so excited. Obama has won so many more states and the delegate race is tight.

I know how you feel about voting, so I really appreciate this post. :)

...it's Obama fever around my campus; we did some mock polls and he was the clear Democratic favorite-

I voted a couple of weeks ago in S.C. It was a very easy experience. Walked right it, had my status checked, voted, and walked back out in less than 2 mins.

I remember in 2000 while I was in the academy, I told my classmates, "Vote for *&^% and we will go back to war." Sure enough, in 2008 we are still at war.

May the best candidate suited for the job win the vote.
